Maureen FitzSimons' early achievements in the performing arts (now known as Maureen O'Hara), would be considered, according to American standards, in the category of child prodigy. However, for an Irish girl who was surrounded by gifted parents and extended families, these qualities were normal. Maureen was born in Ranelagh an area in Dublin - Ireland on 17 August 1920. Marguerita LIlburn FitzSimons is her mom. She was a accomplished contralto. Charles FitzSimons managed a Dublin-based business and owned a share in "The Shamrock Rovers" famous Irish soccer team. Maureen FitzSimons was the second daughter of Charles FitzSimons. Peggy FitzSimons, Florrie Fitzsimons Charles B. Fitzsimons Margot Fitzsimons rounded out this amazing family. Maureen loved playing rough sporting games in her youth and excelled in sports. This interest was combined with an unnatural talent for performing. This is why she received almost all of the Feis Awards for acting and dramatic performances within her own country. When she turned 14, she was accepted into the world-renowned Abbey Theater and pursued her dreams of classical theatre along with operatic music.
